New data from the Employee Benefits Research Institution (EBRI) yielded surprising results after investigating of over 3.2 flexible spending accounts (FSAs) in 2022. Although they discovered a rise in average contributions, almost half of account holders are forfeiting their income to employers.  This is especially concerning because, unlike with savings accounts, FSA users risk losing funds if they are not spent by the end of the year.
