MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Gov. Tony Evers and Republican legislative leaders announced Wednesday evening they are ending negotiations on the next two-year state budget. While both sides said they appreciated the other party's willing to talk over the past few weeks, it now appears the budget will play out the same way it did in the previous three cycles of divided government since Evers' election in 2018.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) – One defendant with a case under Judge Hannah Dugan has questions about the direction and future of her case after the judge was arrested. Dugan was arrested by the FBI on Friday, April 25 and is accused of obstructing federal immigration agents. “I was shocked. My mouth hit the floor,” said Latasha Tharp, when she found out about Dugan’s arrest.

According to family members, 17-year-old Donell Jones was shot and killed at a party near 23rd and Townsend just after 3 a.m. on Easter morning. Tawanda Staten, Jones' mother, said her son was at a party when shots were fired, hitting him and one other person.
