On this afternoon, I caught up with Yellow Springs resident Amy Wamsley during a practice swim at Antioch College. She glides effortlessly through the water. "I'm an athlete. This has become a way of life for me, and I think that's when you become an athlete," Wamsley said. Now the way of life for Wamsley includes tracking her food intake, vitamins and fluids. She collaborates with a therapeutic body works expert, and incorporates meditation, a strict sleep schedule, yoga and weights.

NATO's time in Dayton is wrapping up with new resolutions. On the last day of its Spring Session, NATO parliamentary members unanimously approved resolutions stating NATO will help Ukraine remain an independent nation. "NATO must play its full part by continuing to support Ukraine through all the tools, programs and institutions agreed at the Washington Summit and at previous summits," said Sir Alec Shelbrooke of the UK.

Hundreds of aprotestors came to Dayton Sunday to speak out against NATO, which held a conference in the city. The People's Assembly for Peace and Justice gathered supporters and national speakers from across the country. According to organizers, buses came from New York City, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Cleveland, Akron in addition to car caravans from Columbus, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Toledo, and Louisville.

The 2025 NATO Spring Parliamentary Assembly is winding down, after convening in Dayton for Memorial Day weekend. In June, allied defense ministers will meet in Brussels at the NATO headquarters. That’s when they will review the work these parliamentarians did while in Dayton. Today, each of the five committees for the NATO Parliamentary Assembly are presenting a report of the issues addressed during their closed sessions.

U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said the Trump Administration is eager to work with NATO to resolve conflicts. But he set firm parameters. "The United States is not offering unlimited means for undefined, uncertain, or unrealistic ends. The United States can be a willing partner with considerable political capital. We can work hard, but we will work only with those committed to a practical realism for their own countries," Landau said.
