Thoughts…Do Nothing DayHave you ever wished you had a weekend or day…or even an hour when you could do nothing? For those of you who are still working, you know that is almost impossible. Your latest listing or closing, or where your next client will come from are always at the top of your minds. There is a day for this called DO NOTHING DAY. When I saw this it made me wonder…how do you Do nothing! We live in a time and society when being busy…juggling 10 things at once is like a badge of honor.

Wordless Wednesday…It’s a Texas ThangWhen we lived in Florida, as much as I loved our life there, I missed Texas and Texans. We were reminded just how much we were back in the great State of Texas when we squeezed our little Prius into a parking space. There’s a special relationship between a Texan and their pickup truck. It hauls feed and equipment for ranches and farms, hunting gear for the deer lease, and…well you really don’t need a reason to own a pickup truck.

January Challenge- Passing the ApronWhen I was young, I learned how to cook by watching my grandmother prepare our dinners and our big family holiday dinners. She prepared everything for those big dinners…the turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, etc AND at least 4 pies. There were no written recipes. When I asked my grandmother how much vinegar, for example, to add to the spaghetti sauce, her answer was “Oh this much” as she dumped a large spoonful in.

Motivational Monday…No Matter How Small The significance of random acts of kindness, no matter how small, is a topic that we see often. These acts, often from total strangers, surprise us. They make us smile and give us hope that good people still exist. This weekend I was in my local grocery store looking for an allergy spray. My store has digital coupons I have on my phone so it’s paper free and easy to use.

So…What About Those Points?!Yesterday, ROBERT THIBODEAU II asked in the Q&A how to earn points faster on ActiveRain. Many were kind enough to respond and ActiveRain Member Support provided a link outlining the points. Most of us who’ve been here a bit don’t think about points anymore. When I started, I had no idea that points were involved. It was months before I realized it. However, it’s understandable and reasonable for those starting here, for points take on a life of their own.
