Massachusetts State Police Sargent Yuri Bukhenik was back on the stand for a third day in Karen Read's re-trial. Read is accused of backing into her Boston police officer boyfriend John O'Keefe with her SUV in January 2022. Monday's questions focused on former Massachusetts State Trooper Michael Proctor. The defense tried to put doubt in the jury's minds about how evidence was handled and if someone else could have killed O'Keefe.

A Massachusetts state trooper disciplined after Karen Read's first trial spent the whole day Thursday on the stand. He read a few of those uncomfortable text messages we heard last year, but he wasn't the one who sent them. The jury got to see various pieces of evidence as Sgt. Yuri Bukhenik testified. He was Michael Proctor's supervisor. Proctor -- the lead investigator in the case -- has since been fired from Massachusetts State Police.
