In this episode of our backstage chronicles, Michelle and Katie dive deep into the art of resolution remixing — essentially what would happen if your type-A planning tendencies got into a heated debate with your intuition and somehow… they both won. Instead of SMART goals (which, let's be honest, mostly just make us feel dumb), Katie proposes something revolutionary: actually enjoying the process of personal growth.

Last week, I was on ’s podcast talking about the importance of reading and reading widely. So I thought I’d share what I’ve been reading as of late. I had all these ideas about being freelance and reading for an hour every day just like in a Molly Young interview I read six years ago. That was cute. We were supposed to record for an hour. But then it was almost three hours later and both of us had to pee and we couldn’t believe how long we’d been talking. That’s the magic of Katie Dalebout. I started listening to LET IT OUT almost five years ago, finding her longform conversations soothing and inspiring. They’re best paired with a walk through Prospect Park or a particularly hairy commute. Katie’s voice is calming and grounding, a rare treat in the city.

Cheri never cut off more than a few inches, but when I left the salon, I felt so completely transformed that I immediately started counting down to the next visit. The difference wasn’t that my split ends were gone, but that my unruly, poufy, frizzy, hair was finally straight thanks to the way Cheri blow-dried it. At school, everyone noticed.
