    NORTH BETHESDA, Md. — Hundreds of cyclists took to the streets in D.C. and Montgomery County for the Ride for Your Life event Sunday. The event started last year to honor Bethesda mother Sarah Langenkamp, who was hit and killed while on her bike on River Road. This year, the path the cyclists took honored several who have lost their lives in traffic. The Ride for Your Life took the cyclists past several ghost bikes, placed at crash sites where people have lost their lives in recent years.

    WASHINGTON — There are only five more days beforeThanksgiving, and on Saturday, hundreds of volunteers met at 5:30 a.m. at D.C.'s Stadium Armory to begin packing boxes of food to deliver. The boxes are packed with a variety of vegetables and meat, and a message: You will make it. Someone cares. "It's so great to be here and meet a need that many people may not feel comfortable sharing," said volunteer Andrea Anderson. Anderson's 10-year-old son also volunteered.

Saturday, visiting the World War II Memorial on a cold, clear day. When "thank you" isn't enough, you can come here and look at the stars, marking more than 400,000 Americans who died in the war. "By the time I turned 18, I was drafted one month after my birthday," said retired Colonel Frank Cohn.
