Set to open in late June or early July, Soul Dog Studio will be a “doggie-led” space, Ross said. Sessions will include plenty of toys and treats, and dogs are always allowed on the couch.

    The Environmental Protection Agency said Wednesday that it plans to ease limits on some so-called forever chemicals in drinking water that were finalized last year, while maintaining standards for two common ones. The Biden administration set the first federal drinking water limits for PFAS, or perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, based on findings that they increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, certain cancers and babies being born with low birth weight.

    Members of the Cumberland-North Yarmouth school community rallied on Sunday to support transgender students as protests surrounding the Trump administration’s policies continue to crop up around the state. Parents and students from Maine School Administrative District 51 organized the “We Won’t Back Down” rally in the Cumberland Commons across from Greely schools after the district became embroiled in the national conversation around transgender athletes in girls sports.

    Gorham police are searching for three teens who have been missing since early Saturday morning. Nevaeh “Alex” Boucher, 17, Lexi Broad, 14, and Gabriella Kennie, 15, were last seen in the area of Friendly Village, a neighborhood of mobile homes, around 12:15 a.m. Saturday, the Gorham Police Department said in a news release Sunday. Police said the teens are known to frequent the Portland area and are believed to be together.

    BRUNSWICK — Seventh grader Esme Filippo from The Bay School in Hancock County is headed to the nation’s most prestigious spelling bee after securing a win on Saturday at the Maine State Spelling Bee with the word “domesticity.”Saturday’s competition, held at Bowdoin College in Brunswick and presented by the Maine Trust for Local News, lasted 22 rounds and featured 13 middle school-age students from 13 different counties.
