Next Plc Chief Executive Officer Simon Wolfson sold £12.4 million ($16.4 million) of shares in the British clothing and homewares retailer, as the company’s guidance boost sent the stock to a record high. Wolfson sold 100,000 shares at £123.62 on Thursday, Next said in a regulatory filing. The sale makes up just under 10% of his holding of about 1 million shares, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

Associated British Foods Plc said it’s talking to investment firm Endless LLP about a potential combination of their Kingsmill and Hovis brands, two of the UK’s best-known bread producers. The British conglomerate is evaluating strategic options for its Allied Bakeries unit, Kingsmill’s immediate parent, amid what it called “a very challenging market.” There is no certainty that a deal would be reached, it said Tuesday.
