    On Monday the San Jose Sharks recalled goaltender Yaroslav Askarov from San Jose Barracuda (AHL). The move comes after Vitek Vanecek was injured in the Sharks' 4-3 shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 22-year-old was selected 11th overall by the Nashville Predators in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. In August the Sharks acquired Askarov, along with Nolan Burke and a 2025 third-round pick, from Nashville.
