Marks & Spencer has apologised to customers for disruptions caused by a “cyber incident”, which affected contactless payments and the collection of online orders in its stores. The incident began on Monday [21 April 2025], impacting contactless payments and click and collect orders across the country. This followed a separate technical problem on Saturday, which only affected contactless payments.

The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has initiated legal action against Uber, claiming its subscription offering used deceptive billing and cancellation tactics. The FTC alleges that Uber charged customers for the Uber One subscription without obtaining their consent and made it difficult for them to cancel. An Uber spokesperson denied the allegations and expressed disappointment with the FTC’s decision to pursue the lawsuit.

Waitrose has partnered with eco-friendly toilet paper brand Who Gives A Crap to introduce a Bag for Life designed to deliver impact and reinforce both brands’ commitment to sustainability. The supermarket’s first ever FMCG brand collaboration, will see the bag available exclusively at Waitrose stores from 21 April 2025. Retailing at £6, £1 from every sale will then be donated to provide clean water and sanitation access worldwide.
