BAILEYTON, Ala. – Mayor Windell Calloway on Monday, Jan. 6, called this year’s first monthly meeting of the Baileyton Town Council to order, with Councilman Greg Griffin opening with an invocation. The night’s business saw the council name the new town clerk, and discuss community improvements. The council first discussed old business, including the special-called meeting held Dec. 9, 2024, in which it interviewed candidates for the position of town clerk.

FAIRVIEW, Ala. – The Jan. 6, 2024, meeting of the Fairview Town Council was called to order by Mayor Keith Henry and opened with an invocation by Councilwoman Julie Grimes. The council’s business included discussions on progress toward a new town park, as well as scholarships for student athletes. Park progress was up first. The council and engineers are working together to finalize their grants and budget by February 2025.

BERLIN, Ala. – The Berlin Volunteer Fire Department hosted its fourth annual Breakfast with Santa at the Berlin Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 7, serving up pancakes, bacon, sausage and smiles to the crowd that turned out for the donation-based event. In all, the department brought in more than $13,000 for area children. Guests made donations for their meals, eating in or taking them to go, all for a wonderful community cause.

FAIRVIEW, Ala. – This month’s Fairview Town Council meeting was called to order by Mayor Keith Henry and opened with an invocation by Councilwoman Julie Grimes on Monday, Dec. 2. New business opened with Stanley Graham addressing the council in hopes of abolishing the alley located at Butler Street and Welcome Road. Graham made this request in order to be able to install a septic tank on his property and potentially welcome a new business to the community as a result.
