This year, the festival is honoring the memory of Reynolds, who passed away at the age of 81 earlier this year. “He is very near and dear to everyone’s hearts, especially at the Appleseed Festival,” Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Judy Noel said.

The shelter I lead was in the process of converting to low-barrier status, meaning we admit anyone without regard to sobriety, treatment for mental illness or history of criminal convictions.

Superintendent Scott Wolfe fielded a few questions from residents concerned about water quality as a result of the Feb. 3 train derailment. He said that village water is being tested on a weekly basis every Tuesday morning in conjunction with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency and a Norfolk Southern contractor.

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency recently released more water and air quality sampling results that include a much more detailed scope of chemicals that were tested around the derailment site and affected areas.
