Ralph Lauren Dazzles BridgehamptonBy Katlean de Monchy–Women’s Wear Daily was wowed by Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2025 show in the Hamptons, which drew stars of the fashion world, like Anna Wintour, movie and television actors, models, influencers, Olympic athletes, musicians, the whole nine yards, plus America’s First Lady. For one Thursday in September, Bridgehampton was the center of the fashion world, the day before New York Fashion Week started.

What Happened at the Hampton ClassicBy Katlean de Monchy–You had to be there. It did rain on Grand Prix Day. For just a few moments. Nonetheless, the equestrian community, celebrities and high rollers showed up, and dressed up — straw hats for men, flowered hats for the ladies — for the final competition. It was the $400,000 culmination of a week’s worth of jump offs and contests and qualifiers. I was lucky to stumble on the Evergates table, where Bill Gates’ daughter sat.

By Katlean de Monchy–There is a reason I’m taking a look at New York’s Spring/Summer 2025 Fashion Week from a Hamptons’ perspective. People who live here and vacation here need fashion casual clothes and finery for cocktail parties and galas. I went to under-the-radar shows that offered both at reasonable prices, and yet had the variety and sophistication required. And I saw our local fashionista, Jean Shafiroff, at several of the shows.

By Katlean de Monchy–The Southampton Arts Center hosted its seventh annual Architecture & Design Tour on Saturday, September 14, with this year’s theme, “Vintage/Reimagined,” spotlighting historic homes that had been updated for modern living.  THE PANEL DISCUSSIONThose who turned up for the tour of select Southampton properties were treated to a brunch followed by a discussion moderated by Brian Brady of Brady Design, which has offices in Southampton and Philadelphia.
