Throughout the week, Latrobe’s little adventurers participated in many events, such as Messy Play Monday (March 17) at Morwell Town Common, Stem in the Park Tuesday at Newman Park, Traralgon, and Little Explorers Adventure Friday at Apex Park in Moe. Families took time to participate in local pop-ups brought to them by Playgroup Victoria.

    By KATRINA BRANDONLEADING in positive events, the Calvary Strzelecki House in Mirboo North sprung into action for the World’s Greatest Shave on March 14. With a splash of colour around the aged care facility, residents raised money for the Leukaemia Foundation, raising around $3800. Being the World’s Greatest Shave, two residents and three staff members raised their hands to brave the shave and embrace the cooler change.

Going through the trenches together, more than 215 Gippsland students have been set on new paths, whether to further education, the workforce, or other opportunities. The happy occasion shed many tears, either from the speeches or just being overwhelmed by the ceremony.

Despite extreme weather conditions, hundreds of people joined the festivities, enjoying arts and crafts, music, performances, and animals. Latrobe City Yallourn Ward Councillor, Steph Morgan was a special guest, and took the opportunity to acknowledge a number of efforts.

Live music, food trucks, games, and information stalls highlighted the beginning of the semester, as more than 3000 new students transitioned to university life.
