OMAHA, Neb (KMTV) — Michael Sales and the three young daughters of Rachel Bickerstaff — Amia, Amilia, Amiliana — were killed in a fiery crash on September 27. Sales was on his way home to Council Bluffs from his second job with FedEx when Bickerstaff crashed into him. AVOCA, Iowa (KMTV) — A drought caused a water shortage and boil order for Regional Water customers in five Iowa counties for more than two weeks. In the largest community on the Regional Water system, Avoca, businesses struggled with the water restrictions. In an effort to help local businesses, the community organized "Pour into Avoca" — a local shopping event meant to encourage neighbors to support their local merchants.

Her own party was sharply divided on the bill. Sherri Webb owns land in Shelby County that is on the path of the Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (KMTV) — Council Bluffs city officials proposed an extension of Tipton Drive into a planned Broadmoor apartment complex. It wasn't something Broadmoor had in it's plans and neighbors along Tipton, in the Briarwood subdivision, didn't like the idea. They started talking to each other, organized, and convinced the city council to alter the plans. One of the main objections to the street extension was that it could increase the amount of traffic on a quiet, suburban street.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (KMTV) — Neighbors have organized a special shopping day on Friday to help Avoca businesses that were hurt by more than two weeks of water restrictions. “You can start your day as early as 6:30 at the coffee shop and you could be supporting Avoca businesses all day long until the late hours of the evening,” said Kate Gerber, public relations manager for Pottawattamie County.

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (KMTV) — A planned data center — Project Lola — on the east side of Council Bluffs will be smaller than what was originally approved by Council Bluffs City Council last year, but it will still have a relatively large footprint near Iowa Western Community College. The original proposal was for 450,000 square feet and it's being amended to 285,000 square feet. Buildings originally proposed to be 80 feet tall will now be 36 feet tall.
