Following a phenomenal 2024, ‘HOT TO GO!’ superstar Chappell Roan has been named BBC Radio 1’s Sound of 2025 – the station’s annual poll to identify music’s biggest rising stars. Beating the likes of Ezra Collective, Barry Can’t Swim, Myles Smith and English Teacher, Chappell was named winner by a panel of more than 180 musicians and experts, including Sir Elton John, Dua Lipa and Sound of 2014 winner Sam Smith.

BBC Comedy has announced the star-studded cast for new series Amandaland, a spinoff of the hit show Motherland. As previously confirmed, Amandaland will star Lucy Punch as Amanda, Joanna Lumley as Felicity and Philippa Dunne as Anne. They will be joined by Samuel Anderson (Gavin & Stacey) as Mal, Siobhan McSweeney (Derry Girls) as Della, Rochenda Sandall (Line of Duty) as Fi, Ekow Quartey (Trying) as JJ and Peter Serafinowicz (The Gentlemen) as Johannes.
