H-E-B is moving forward with plans for San Marcos' third grocery store. The bustling college town could see the new store open by the fall of 2026 that will house the city's first True Texas BBQ. The San Antonio-based grocery giant filed the plans for the $30 million store on Monday, April 7, with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The filing says construction on the 118,945-square-foot store is forecast to begin on September 1 and could be completed by October 2026.

A Taiwan-based electronics company is moving forward with big expansion plans for North Texas. Delta Electronics Inc. filed plans for a $115 million factory and offices in Plano on Tuesday, April 1. The plans include a three-story manufacturing facility and a four-story office building that will be 630,000 square feet total, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The witness told police that Metcalf "grabbed Anthony and told him to move," which is when the witness said Anthony pulled out a knife and stabbed Metcalf in the chest. Police wrote in the affidavit that when Anthony was found, he told them unprompted that he was protecting himself before the officer had begun questioning the teen.

A 3.4 magnitude earthquake struck West Texas on Thursday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey. It's at least the sixth earthquake reported since Friday, March 28. The quake was recorded hitting approximately 17 miles southwest of Garden City around 8 a.m. UTC, which is about 2 a.m. CST, on April 3. Garden City is located near Midland and Odessa.
