The Grand Theatre has produced yet another musical that blew my mind, with songs that will be making it to my playlist Waitress follows Jenna Hunterson as she chases dreams and bakes her way out of everyday troubles like working a repetitive job. The show is made extraordinary by its incredible script and lyrics. But Waitress doesn’t just deal with baking — it delves into deeper themes like an unplanned pregnancy, affairs and domestic violence.

When you choose to live in Old North over Richmond Row, it is assumed that you forfeit the convenience of walking to the bars. But with the new year comes a new place to party and be productive. The Twins Cafè and Lounge has officially opened at 1135 Richmond St., just outside Western University’s main gates, offering students a place to study and snack during the day and drink and dance at night. Twins opens as a cafè at 7:30 a.m. (9 a.m. on the weekends) for “daytime brews” and closes at 7 p.m..

It was not just the hills but the tear ducts of many people in the audience that were alive with The Sound of Music. Going into this production at the Grand Theatre, I wanted to be stern and critical and write a review that would sound smart rather than just amused. But from the opening act, I realized that wasn’t going to happen. This performance was the best and most professional I’d seen at the Grand.

The SASAH Fashion Show is dismantling the fast fashion industry without the usual broken seams and buttons. Every year, the fourth-year students in the School for Advanced Studies in Arts and Humanities do a collective capstone project. This year, they have chosen to organize a fashion show next Monday with the theme and title “Mea Culpa,” which translates to “my fault” in Latin.
