Granville baseball is scheduled to open the season on Tuesday, April 3rd, on the road for a non-league contest against Hudson Falls.

By Keith HarringtonThe coaches of the Adirondack League recently named their girls wrestling all-stars for the 2024-2025 season. Hadley-Luzerne senior Essie Braman was named the league MVP. In the 165-pound category, Braman finished fourth at the New York State Girls Wrestling Championships. She finished the season with a 28-4 record and 22 pins. She did not lose an Adirondack League match.

By Keith HarringtonThe coaches of the Adirondack League recently announced their 2024-2025 wrestling all-stars. Grapplers from champion Salem-Cambridge, newly merged Granville-Whitehall, and sectional Division II qualifiers dominated the selections. Salem-Cambridge had nine wrestlers recognized and Granville-Whitehall had seven. Senior Jaxon Torres of Granville-Whitehall was named the league MVP.

By Keith HarringtonDuring her high school career in Whitehall Madison Gould was the most dominant pitcher in the area. She collected about every accolade possible. The sophomore at Vermont State University Castleton is continuing her success at the college level. Sunday the Spartans wrapped up their final day at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with two dominating wins.

By Keith Harrington Whitehall has been a force in Adirondack League, Section II, and New York State wrestling for as long as most sports fans can remember. For 40 years of that run the name Diekel has been synonymous with Railroader wrestling. You might say the Diekels are the “First Family of Whitehall Wrestling.” This weekend the Diekel family received another accolade for their wrestling prowess as Bob Diekel was inducted into the Section II Wrestling Hall of Fame.
