    A new museum coming to Kansas City hopes to bring the city’s glowing past back to life—one neon sign at a time.Local photographer Nick Vedros is leading an effort to preserve, restore and display some of the most iconic neon signs from Kansas City’s past.The LUMI Neon Museum is set to open later this year near the new Ferris wheel at Penway Point.“These signs were the historical fabric of our city,” Vedros said.

    Kansas City's Parade of Hearts public art project is taking a break in 2025 with the intention of coming back bigger than ever in 2026. The much-loved Kansas City project is pausing to give artists time to prepare new designs and come up with a plan to work with a new shape. While the famous Kansas City heart is still involved in the project, this time, it's cut out from a large circle. Civic leader Neal Sharma said the event will showcase Kansas City's progress and future direction.
