But despite that we now have news of Downton Abbey 3 to begin filming in the beloved Downton Abbey franchise. The streaming giants are no strangers to the country. From the streets of Edinburgh in recently released One Day to the  Highlands seen in The Crown. Soon Netflix will be bringing three new series to Scotland this year. The Undertow starring Jamie Dornan who is set to lead, playing identical twins Adam and Lee, alongside Mackenzie Davis, who plays Nicola, Adam’s wife.

Production has started on a new Netflix crime series, Department Q, with Matthew Goode as the lead detective. The show follows former top-rated detective Carl Morck as he tackles cold cases and builds a team of misfit officers. Other stars in the cast include Chloe Pirrie, Alexej Manvelov, Kelly Macdonald, and Leah Byrne. Production is now underway in Edinburgh for a new Netflix crime series, Department Q, hailing from one of the streamer's favorite creative partners, Scott Frank.

Tuesday 6 February 2024: Today, Netflix announces cast for new crime series Department Q, which is currently in production in Edinburgh. Matthew Goode (The King’s Man, The Offer), Chloe Pirrie (Under The Banner of Heaven, The Queen’s Gambit), Alexej Manvelov (Jack Ryan, Top Dog) Kelly Macdonald (Line of Duty, Operation Mincemeat) and Leah Byrne (Call The Midwife, Nightsleeper) to star in the new series from acclaimed showrunner Scott Frank (The Queen’s Gambit).
