PHOTO GALLERYThe latest graduates of Florida State University’s Republic of Panama campus were encouraged to aim high and persevere through hardships during a commencement ceremony Dec. 4 at the City of Knowledge Convention Center in Panama City, Panama. Rector Carlos Langoni presided over the ceremony and congratulated the 14 graduates and their families. He was accompanied by vice rectors, members of the FSU Panama Board of Directors and faculty members.

Six faculty members and one postdoctoral researcher at Florida State University have received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award for the 2024-2025 academic year from the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Their expertise will take them to Finland, Colombia, Italy, India, Germany and Sweden. Fulbright U.S. Scholars are faculty, researchers, administrators and established professionals teaching or conducting research in affiliation with institutes abroad.

Florida State University is helping to train the next generation of professional baseball players from Central America and the Caribbean through a partnership with the Mariano Rivera Baseball Stadium and High-Performance Training Center in the Republic of Panama. FSU Panama plans to offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to young athletes participating in the programs of the Center.
