SAN DIEGO - The private jet that crashed last month in San Diego, killing all six on board, was flying too low before it hit power lines and slammed into a house, investigators said Wednesday. According to a National Transportation Safety Board preliminary report, the plane reached a descent point about three miles from the runway that was too low, before dropping to 60 feet above ground level.

The Cessna 550 was flying into Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport in San Diego early Thursday morning amid dense fog. For reasons that remain under investigation, the plane slammed into a residential neighborhood, causing multiple fires and leaving a massive debris field. All six people on the plane were killed. A spokesperson for Sound Talent Group, a San Diego County-based music agency, confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that the company lost three employees.

SAN DIEGO - A small plane crashed in dense fog in a Murphy Canyon neighborhood early Thursday morning, presumably killing all six people onboard, injuring eight people on the ground and burning several cars and homes in military housing. The plane, a Cessna 550, crashed east of Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport around 3:45 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA said six people were onboard the Cessna Citation II.
