CHENEYVILLE, La. (WNTZ) — Five people were wounded and four vehicles struck by gunfire during a shooting that occurred near Cheneyville Town Hall at approximately 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, according to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office. No fatalities have been reported. All five victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Their names and conditions have not been released.

GLENMORA, La. (WNTZ) – Three people, including a Glenmora police officer, were arrested this week in connection with the killing of two dogs in an incident that authorities say involved animal cruelty and misconduct by law enforcement. According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, investigators began looking into a complaint of animal cruelty received on May 25, which allegedly occurred on May 21 inside Glenmora city limits.

On May 31, a Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy initiated a traffic stop on a northbound vehicle on U.S. Highway 165 for a traffic violation.
