    Construction on the $2.97 million Richmond Hill Multi-Use Pathway project should be completed in June, the District of Hope has announced. "This project is all about re-imagining a former highway into a community connector - linking east and west Hope for everyone, not just vehicles," the district said via social media.

    In order to keep meeting their goal of supporting residents in growing their own food, no matter the available space, the Hope Food Collective offered free container gardens to residents on May 12. The Hope Food Collective partnered with the Yale First Nation Greenhouse to make the baskets, which were intended to act as a mini garden for those who wanted them. "Baskets were claimed in less than 24 hours," said Darla Dickinson, a member of Hope Food Collective, in an email to The Hope Standard.

    The province says it is aware of, and monitoring, a growing encampment in Hope that has raised safety concerns among residents. The ministries involved also confirmed this week that the encampment, along Flood Hope Road, is a ministry right-of-way and Crown land.
