One person was killed and at least one other injured after a head-on accident involving three vehicles in unincorporated Santa Barbara County earlier Thursday. California Highway Patrol officials said a 19-year-old crashed head-on with a vehicle driven by an 87-year-old Goleta woman on Modoc Road east of Via Senda.

A new visitor center and shared office space in Paso Robles has officially opened. The Paso Robles Visitor Center has been described by local officials as a hub for business support, tourism information, and community collaboration. The space will be occupied by the Paso Robles & Templeton Chamber of Commerce and the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, which representatives say is vital in promoting the region's wine industry.

April is dedicated to crime victims' rights. That's what the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors proclaimed late last month, declaring April the time to highlight survivors and the services offered locally in support of them. The proclamation preempted a crime victims' advocacy event hosted by the district attorney's office on Thursday, where speakers highlighted survivors' experiences, victims' rights, and the services offered within the county.
