4 years of this crap we seem to have forgot it all. Yes, we have been here before... but before the main event (Israel, Iran and the US.) to start, how did we get here? Democrats seem to always be way behind the Republicans as they drive madly down their very small, narrow, one way only road leading towards a one party only dictatorship/oligarchy. And pathetic in their attempts to block. This started way before Trump. After Bush's brother purged enough voters to get his brother the election Democrats turned on each other. Even though Gore took it all the way to the Supreme Court still Dems turned on each other.

Israel: to some on the Left... Now we've gotten rid of that nasty Biden administration that wasn't pro-Palestinian enough, wasn't as active enough when it came to refusing weapons to those indiscriminately bombing Gaza... you apparently got what you wanted. So this is better... how? When Biden was president I kept getting blow back regarding Israel's policy regarding Gaza. Admittedly BAD, but could be far worse.

Questions like who exactly had his jackbooted, brownshirt like Proud Boys, and other right wing groups attack, on 1/6? Try to hang public servants like our now former VP, who wasn't loyal enough for the sequel 4 years later?

It's something Republicans have been doing since at least Nixon. It started with trying to run foreign policy behind a president's back, where Nixon's people negotiated with the Vietnamese. Promising that if elected Nixon would give them a better deal. Yeah, Vietnamization. How did THAT work out for ya, Vietnam and war supporters? Then behind the back of Carter for releasing the hostages. The type of tactics that led, eventually, to arming and training those who attacked us on 1/6.

Recently I wrote a column called The Demand for WMD: "the demand for White Male Dominance." "White Male Superiority" works too. The claim is Biden, Obama, government departments, businesses hired only to satisfy some racial mindset. Of course once we go to examples often the whole concept falls apart and points right back at Trump and MAGA want/are doing. One of the best examples was the claim Kamala Harris was an example of DEI.

Image courtesy Wikipedia Are you as tired as I am regarding their DEI talking point? Have you noticed Trump, MAGA and the right NEVER say what the letters mean: "Diversity, Equity, Inclusion?" Of course they don't, because what the HELL is wrong with "diversity, equity, inclusion?" That's the point; they don't want diversity. equity or inclusion. They want people hired or elected because they are mostly white, mostly male where no inclusion or equity should apply.

As he lies in state I feel it's time I write about Jimmy Carter. As someone who lived through that time as a politically active voter I feel I need to clear up why he lost. Jimmy is more to blame than some people think, less that many of his opponents would claim. But many mistakes Carter made Democrats are still making. Right up front: I didn't vote for him. I didn't vote Reagan. When he defeated Ford I may have voted Ford: not sure. My politics were changing at the time.

Like a flat rock tossed across a lake, there's a surface level, shallow, explanation for why there's so little talk of the border wall. Then there's a deeper, more scary explanation. Both are true. Both reveal a lot about who is returning to the White House. Shallow, but true... He did claim he finished building it, despite he didn't. He did claim it was paid for, by Mexico. He knows it wasn't. Everyone with brains knows that didn't happen. So why go back to that?
