We had some pretty wicked lightning yesterday in one of the first thunderstorms of the season. I heard some lightning strikes at my house that were incredible, and the thunder rolled forever. Several buildings were damaged across the state of Minnesota, including a possible lightning strike at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival site. A fire destroyed several buildings. Yesterday, I saw on the Cloquet Area Fire District Facebook page that a house "was likely" hit by lightning.

I stumbled on an article that talks about the best food you need to try from every state. I was expecting it would be something pretty Minnesota-based, like Tater Tot Hotdish, or maybe a nice pasty from your local church fundraiser. I learned today that there's a place that's called the loniest spot in North America, and it's right here in Lake Superior. Lake Superior is a vast body of water. One of Duluth's oldest businesses is for sale on Central Entrance. They've been operating from their location at 36 W Central Entrance for over 40 years. The Roseman Duluth's Rose and Floral Shop was established in 1981. I remember, even as a kid, this place existed right on Central Entrance. It was a small building with "The Rose Man" written on the side. When I was a kid, I thought that there was just one guy who sold only roses.
