Forty schools from Section 9 will field teams in boys track and field this season. The Section 9 regular-season got underway this week and will conclude on May 14. The Orange County league meet will be May 16 and 17 at Warwick Valley High School. No date has been finalized for the Mid-Hudson Athletic League meet but it is usually the same weekend.

Coaches are encouraged to provide their game reports ([email protected]) in order for athletes to be chosen; they may also nominate one player from their team by Sunday afternoon.

The players of the year (per class) were: Max Sheth of Kingston (AAA); Zach Hart of Our Lady of Lourdes (AA); Cayden Dones of New Paltz (A); Ryan Shust of John S. Burke Catholic (B); and, Trai Kauffmann of Eldred and Jake Mandel of Mount Academy (co-winners in C/D).

All six sectional champions were recognized: Newburgh Free Academy (17th in Class AAA); Our Lady of Lourdes (23rd in AA); New Paltz (11th in A); Burke Catholic (27th in B); Mount Academy (24th in C); and, Eldred (15th in D).
