It's that time of year, when 12 months of meticulous organisation by a very dedicated group of Dubbo people comes to fruition on the big stage – for the 2025 City of Dubbo Eisteddfod. The Dubbo Photo News team had to flip a whole bunch of coins to try pick a photo from all the super-cute "Nursery Rhymes" competitors to feature on this week's cover. Luke from ROAM media provided these exciting pictures of the recent Dubbo Show held last weekend. The Show, first staged in 1873, has grown from small beginnings to become one of the major agricultural shows in NSW, and is currently recognised as one of the top five such events in the State. Show-goers this year enjoyed good weather and great crowds, with the fun of the fair thrilling, entertaining, and educating locals and visitors to the region for another year. In a moment of fun and in the search for the perfect present for a friend, Sue Ellen Cooper bought a red hat as her gift.

Dubbo RSL Club Group only exists because of its members. With a membership base of over 17,000 in Dubbo and the surrounding Local Government Area, the group is continuously giving back to members and the local communities they live in. Dubbo Base Hospital is the region's major rural referral facility in Dubbo and services a population of approximately 130,000 people within its catchment area. What that means for the Dubbo RSL Club Group is that its members clearly need and utilise this service.

Photos by Ken SmithThe Central West Riders Dubbo hosted a fantastic charity ride on Saturday, April 5, raising more than $5,500 to support Country Hope, who supports local families who have a child diagnosed with cancer or a life-threatening illness. The event kicked off at Devil’s Hollow Brewery, with riders setting off on a scenic route through Dunedoo and Mendooran before returning to the Amaroo Hotel for an afternoon full of fun, community spirit, and fundraising.
