Alabama left-hander Zane Adams limited No. 7 LSU on Saturday to one run in five innings of work, as the No. 15 Crimson Tide posted a 7-4 win over the Tigers in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. Alabama improved to 31-10 overall, 9-9 in the SEC, while LSU dropped to 34-7 overall and 12-6 in conference play. The loss was just LSU’s second at home this season and its first home loss in SEC play. The Tigers are 25-2 in Alex Box Stadium this season, including 8-1 in conference home games.

Ira Austin pitched three scoreless innings and the New Orleans Privateers went ahead for good in the seventh inning of a 6-5 win to complete the sweep over the HCU Huskies (22-16, 14-7) on Saturday at Maestri Field. Austin was called upon to start the seventh and he retired the side in order on just 10 pitches. He got around a two-out single in the eighth and a leadoff hit by pitch in the ninth as he induced three fly ball outs to pick up his team-leading fourth win of the season.

The Tulane baseball team (24-17, 8-7 AAC) lost the rubber game of the series to UTSA (30-10, 12-3 AAC) by a 25-7 final score on Saturday afternoon, April 19, at Roadrunner Field. Tulane gave up runs in every one of the first five innings including 11 runs in the second inning. The team walked 15 in the contest while also giving up 16 hits, 25 runs and hit four batters. Will Clements started on the mound for Tulane and surrendered four runs on four walks in his inning plus.

The Southeastern Lions (26-7) are rolling, winning eight of their last ten games. The Lions are getting it done at the plate, batting over .300 as a team. In the field, they're turning the fourth most double plays in the country. On the mound, they rank fourth in the nation in ERA and second in shutouts. "Obviously, the roster was upgraded with recruiting and things like that - things that you want to see in your second year," Southeastern head coach Bobby Barbier said.
