Baylor cruised to an 88-57 victory tonight over Abilene Christian. After building up an early lead, the game was never in doubt. Here are my main takeaways. *Good to see Norchad Omier play well after the eye injury: Norchad Omier (5Sr.) got scratched in the eye early in the game. CBS Sports Network felt the need to show us his lower eye while he was examined on the bench. Omier returned to lead the Bears in scoring.

With VJ Edgecombe (Fr.) sidelined with a hamstring injury, Baylor played with just a seven-man rotation tonight. Then, in the second half, Jeremy Roach (5Sr.) went out with a concussion. That’s good news in the sense that he’s not Tua, so he’s not facing a debilitating injury. Let’s bullet: *Have to get more from Jalen CelestineHe had five fouls and no points. He was not active on the glass either. Jalen Celestine (Sr.

Although I touched on some of these themes in my immediate column after the debacle against No. 11 Tennessee, I want to spell out my thesis fully for how I view this season of Baylor basketball. And for me, this team should be building exclusively to try and peak in February. Long-termism is a theory developed by effective altruists that says we should pay particular attention to protecting the long future. The ideology doesn’t proscribe liberal or conservative solutions.

For the second time over a full game this season and the third half of this tournament, Baylor looked awful. The Bears lost the first half by 27 points. Although Baylor scored more points than the Volunteers in the second half, it’s hard for me to say “won” when a team lost the first half by so much that the second proved irrelevant; the Bears only made a bit of a run with the outcome assured. Baylor does have some talented pieces still.

Ridiculous this isn’t allowed today. Bears have a right to drink Dr. Pepper and watch football. Why go through all that training to be denied two of their favorite things?

1988. Baylor’s live mascot drinking a Dr Pepper in Jack Trice Stadium. https://t.co/Gy4svIWc0f

Today is finally the day. I was going crazy showing my wife

A while ago TikTok hooked me on these guys playing best ball mini golf every day trying to break 30. This is Day 52. Most promising front 9 yet. Back 9 isn’t posted yet. Most important sporting event of the day imo https://t.co/wEE6HLeEe6

Yep! Much better to see and hear this than folks pretending they're attending a school because they prepare someone better for the NBA!

Love that Texas Tech pitcher NiJaree Canady just straight up admits to ESPN that she was paid $1,050,024 in NIL money. Good for her, good for women's sports.
