The city of Vicksburg is under a state of emergency in response to the rising Mississippi River, which is expected to reach 47.5 feet, a moderate flood stage, around April 20.The flood wall at the waterfront has marks indicating different water levels, and on Friday, the city put up barriers to fill in the gaps on the wall.
