1 INTRODUCTION Age is one of the major risk factors for multimorbidity, commonly defined as the presence of multiple coexisting conditions.1 Older people are more likely to have multimorbidity than others due to age-related decline in functional status that increases the likelihood of developing chronic health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes and heart disease.2, 3 Multimorbidity often leads to increased use of medications to control the symptoms and prevent complications.
