    Bandai Namco Entertainment has revealed new characters from the Buu Saga in its latest trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, set to release on October 11, 2024, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This addition introduces Kid Buu, Super Buu (Gotenks Absorbed), and Super Buu (Gohan Absorbed) to the game’s roster, expanding the lineup with key fighters from the final arc of Dragon Ball Z.

    As someone always eager to try a new deckbuilder or tactical adventure, I was especially excited to try a title that mixed elements of both, along with very light rogue-like elements. Developed by ACQUIRE Corp, the same team behind Octopath Traveler, that game has the ponderous and somewhat awkward title of C.A.R.D.S. RPG: The Misty Battlefield. I’d love to tell you what that acronym stands for, but I never found out.

    It’s easy to forget that dedicated handheld game consoles are largely dead. Handheld systems have perhaps never been more popular, with devices like the Switch, the Steam Deck, and even something like the PlayStation Portal finding an audience. However, unless you want to get into delightful but highly niche options like the Playdate, you won’t find a truly dedicated handheld. All of the options on the market are made to play console games on the go.
