Graham Goodrich learned last month that he has a Cerebral Cavernous Malformation or CCM. Genesee County Neurosurgeon Dr. Vivekanand Palavali says it’s a fairly rare condition, affecting roughly 1 in every 200-250 American adults.

The Saturday afternoon tornado was an EF-1: the second weakest on the scale. Residents count themselves lucky that the worst of the damage was restricted to power lines and fallen trees. Butman resident Curtis Langer told ABC12 his family got home just as the storm arrived practically in their front yard.

In reading “Combating the Opioid Crisis”, in the Feb. 22 issue of The Sylva Herald, the article stated an Opioid Settlement Supplemental Agreement awarded Jackson County $3 million dollars to combat opioid use on the local level. I worked in public safety since I was 18, most being an almost 35-year career in law enforcement. For the past three years, I have worked with a local funeral home. I have seen my share of people addicted to drugs and alcohol.
