LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kenny McPeek's Render Judgement may have needed some help to get in, but the 3-year-old horse is in the field of 20 for the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby. This year, one Kentucky native is looking to go back-to-back for the win. McPeek owned the weekend of Derby 150, pulling off the Oaks Derby double. "Amazing. It's weird because I went into the races and I told my wife, I said, 'I think we can win both races.' I fully expected her to win," McPeek said.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It's pretty clear entering The 151st Kentucky Derby, all eyes are on Journalism. The thoroughbred is on assignment at Churchill Downs. "This is what we're here for, right? You always dream of having a horse of this caliber," trainer Michael McCarthy said. The three-year-old is McCarthy's second-ever Derby starter. Last year, he had Endlessly, who would go on to finish ninth.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For some, Kentucky Derby season just feels different. Brad Cox is one of those people. The Louisville native has saddled 11 starters in the Kentucky Derby. "I feel like for someone that grew up here, and obviously you try to be in a position to compete in the Oaks, in the Derby, it's the most exciting time of year," he said. Cox brings in two contenders this year, starting with the winner of the Florida Derby, whose name has been a bit of a mystery.

And while it may have looked like business as usual outside his barn, the St. Xavier grad was missing in action and sick earlier this week. "It wasn't how I would have drawn everything up," Beckman's said.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The road is now set for the University of Louisville (UofL) football team when it comes to next season. Some of the highlights include the Cards playing at Notre Dame on Sept. 28. Then on Oct. 5, they'll host SMU, who is new to the ACC. The game at Boston College on Oct. 25 is a Friday night game, and it's the only midweek game this season. That following week the Cards will be at Clemson.
