A man accused of choking the mother of his four children more than two years ago will be fighting the allegations which have just surfaced. Aaron David Murphy, 44, has been charged with one count of choking and two of assault occasioning bodily harm (AOBH). He made an application for bail in Rockhampton Magistrates Court in mid-February.

A former school sports captain turned DJ and music promoter turned to party drugs and supplying them after losing family and friends to suicide. Cody De Landelles Barnicoat, 24, lost contact with his parents for three to four years and was couch-surfing when he was busted for six supplies charges, Rockhampton District Court heard last month. Defence barrister Julie Marsden said her client, who had been a sports captain at Rockhampton High School, had struggled with his mental health.

The victim of a shooting, whose body was found on the roadside in Central Queensland, has been identified as 34-year-old Anuisha Bone. Mr Bone’s body was found along Yeppoon Rd at Norman Gardens, Rockhampton, about 4am on Friday. He was found with what’s believed to have been a gunshot wound to the neck, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
