While Pat McAfee has wrestled multiple times for WWE, he was fully established as a commentator far past his prime in the build-up to Backlash. Despite this story, WWE treated McAfee like one of the toughest men in all of WWE, surviving many of the best shots The Ring General could throw at him. Both men worked this contest too soft for the promise of the battle. In particular, McAfee's offense never looked believable.

WWE has relied on Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer since WrestleMania, but while the latter still needs to complete her story in NXT, the former has a clearer direction on Raw. Beyond a follow-up match with Vaquer for the NXT Women's Championship, Giulia should focus on the main roster and team with Roxanne Perez regularly. The Prodigy is a rising star WWE is already relying upon. Her match with Rhea Ripley this week was a sign of things to come, a competitive battle that helped both stars shine.
