Southern Door’s softball season came to an end Thursday when the No. 4-seeded Eagles lost their WIAA Division 3 regional championship game at No. 1-seeded Brillion, 10-2. The Lions got on the scoreboard in the opening inning on a solo home run by Amaya Brooks and added to their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the second. Brillion ended up with 11 hits off Eagles pitcher Alanah Kaye, who also walked a batter and struck out six.

The new Sturgeon Bay Clippers logo. The Sturgeon Bay baseball team could only muster one run Thursday when the No. 10-seeded Clippers lost their WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal at No. 7-seeded Marinette, 9-1. Sturgeon Bay took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third when Caleb Plzak drove in the team’s only run. Plzak and Sigmund Hansen each had a hit to account for the Clippers’ only two hits of the game.

Southern Door’s baseball team outhit Mishicot, 7-6, but didn’t score the most runs in their WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal. The No. 8-seeded Eagles’ season came to an end Thursday when they lost at home to the No. 9-seeded Indians, 4-2. Tyler Neinas and Mason Paye each drove in a run for Southern Door. The Eagles were led at the plate by Isaac Bauduin with two hits.

Sevastopol’s baseball team scored four runs in the top of the eighth Thursday when the No. 11-seeded Pioneers won their WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfibnal at No. 6-seeded Port Edwards, 12-8. A potential winning run by Port Edwards in the bottom of the seventh was thwarted by Sevastopol with a throw by Tyler Grooters at shortstop to catcher Hatcher Reetz for an out. The Pioneers pounded out 14 hits, including four from Grooters, who doubled and drove in two runs.
