When you combine the two, we get what Meteorologists call to or refer as the heat index or feels like temperatures.

Look for morning cloudiness and a few light lingering showers before we see some late day clearing. Friday looks mostly dry with highs in the low/mid 80s, but a stray shower/storm is possible tonight from Grand Rapids to the north/west.

    The forecast from FOX 17 Weather Ready Chief Meteorologist Kevin Craig: The Storm Prediction Center upgraded a large portion of southern Lower Michigan into the Enhanced Risk Area (Level 3 out of 5) for severe storms today. The rest of Central Lower Michigan remains in the Slight Risk Area (Level 2 out of 5) for severe storms. Damaging winds are the primary threat, but heavy downpours, hail, and tornadoes are all in play with this event. TIMING: 3 P.M. to 9 P.M..

Highs will be in the upper 70s Saturday and lower 80s Sunday. The weekend is trending dry with no measurable rain expected! More heat and humidity filter in next week with shower and storm chances returning mid-week. Right now, the wettest day look to be next Wednesday. we'll also need to monitor the chance for stronger storms too.

Tornado watches in effect in yellow to our west. Severe storms in full bloom over Wisconsin and Illinois. These storms will move into West Michigan and affect us by 9/9:30.
