The forecast from FOX 17 Weather Ready Chief Meteorologist Kevin Craig: High pressure in control over the Great Lakes will continue to deliver dry, sunny, pleasant conditions for this Mother's Day weekend. Dry air sticks around the Great Lakes for the next few days with temperatures increasing a few degrees each day. Be careful if you plan on doing any burning. The forecast from FOX 17 Weather Ready Chief Meteorologist Kevin Craig: High pressure building into the Great Lakes today will provide mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. A cold front will drop through the state late this afternoon/evening. There's a very small chance it could trigger an isolated inland P.M. shower, but most locations will stay dry. Highs will be warm in the low/mid 70s today. By Thursday, temperatures will be a little cooler with highs in the lower 60s.

The forecast from FOX 17 Weather Ready Chief Meteorologist Kevin Craig: The best chance of rain today will be for areas along/east of U.S. 131. The steadiest rain will likely be across Montcalm, Ionia, Eaton, Calhoun Counties. The upper level low pressure system controlling our weather the past few days begins to move off to the east later today, allowing for dry air to return to the Great Lakes later today and tomorrow.

Today will be mostly dry, but there are indications that an upper level cut-off low over the Ohio Valley will increase our rain chances Sunday through Tuesday. It will not be raining all of the time, but occasional to scattered showers will be possible from Sunday afternoon through Tuesday.
