Last Friday, St. Johnsbury Academy junior Declan Kendall and Blue Mountain Union senior Kason Blood gifted their dads a Father’s Day present that will be very, very tough to top in future years. LYNDON CENTER — Eight-year-old Piper Fournier received a special gift last Friday, but she doesn’t plan on holding on to it forever. Given a game-used softball following Lyndon Institute’s recent 6-3 victory over Thetford, Fournier — along with 8-year-old Kinsley Stanton and 9-year-old Riley Carr — were the latest recipients of a unique tradition at every LI home game.

BURLINGTON — A quartet of 2024 National Champions will swap their University of Vermont green and gold for a Vermont Green FC kit this summer. After capturing the University’s and the America East Conference’s first-ever soccer national championship last fall, four contributors to the University of Vermont’s men’s soccer team will remain at Virtue Field through the summer months while competing for Vermont Green FC, a USL League Two professional team in its fourth season out of Burlington.
