Rogers and Fido customers who exclusively use its 2G and 3G networks will be slapped with an extra monthly fee starting in May. The update comes as Canadian mobile carriers begin to sunset their 3G networks. Rogers plans to retire its own 3G network by July 31, 2025. Rogers and Fido customers were notified of the change via email last week. Affected users were warned if their phone number used 3G.

U.S. President Donald Trump‘s global blanket tariffs have left very little untouched, with duties levied on almost every country and territory from major trading partners to uninhabited, volcanic islands. The sweeping import taxes against more than 180 countries and territories will come into force in the coming days, starting from a 10 per cent baseline and ratcheting up higher against countries the Trump administration believes have been unfair to the States.

As the clock ticks down to April 3, the date when U.S. president Donald Trump‘s 25 per cent tariffs on all imported vehicles are expected to kick in, economists warn that all new North American cars could soon see a price hike in the thousands of dollars. How much the price of a certain vehicle may be affected will depend on where it is manufactured, said Charles Bernard, the lead economist at the Canadian Automobile Dealers Association.
