On the week of April 8, Andrea Avalos, a US citizen and 2023 MSCS graduate, sent Murphy a message telling her to resign. She called her an embarrassment and insulted her appearance.

Test batsmen Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne both failed as Queensland made a horror start to the Sheffield Shield final against a South Australian side inspired by the feats of former Bulls paceman Brendan Doggett. Sent into bat by SA skipper Nathan McSweeney at Karen Rolton Oval, the Bulls were bowled out on Wednesday for just 95 early in the second session, with Doggett the chief destroyer, taking 6-31 off 11.5 overs.

The Ivies welcome their seventh version of basketball Madness to Brown’s Pizzitola Sports Center this Friday through Sunday, but unlike every other conference in the country, the anticipation is non-existent at half of the league’s eight schools.

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — A state takeover of Memphis-Shelby County Schools remains a possibility as lawmakers continue to put together legislation to oversee the embattled district. Not everyone in the Mid-South is on board, however. A community group has sprung up to fight the move and will be meeting regularly to find ways to improve district learning without the arm of the state.
