    LEWISBURG — Wawa has announced that its first Union County location will open at 8 a.m. Thursday, June 5. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 8:30 at the store, located at 113 business lane, just off of Route 15 in Kelly Township. During the grand opening event, Wawa will announce community partnerships and support for local organizations. “We are excited to continue our expansion in Central Pennsylvania with our first store in Union County,” said Jim Magee, director of Store Operations.

Eckert also won the track's season opener in April. Other Saturday night winners at Selinsgrove were Lane Snook in limited late models, Krutz Kepner in Pa. Sprint Cars and Jaden Geesaman in the roadrunner division.

    Two weeks ago, I made my first visit of the 2025 season to the Selinsgrove Speedway. Right out of the gate, several things impressed me. This marks the first year the speedway is being promoted by SCD Management, led by Paula Schick, Jenna Mowery and Colin Rice. The trio faced a tall task when they took over as the individual who had promoted the track over the last two years canceled most of the track’s 2024 races as civil claims continued to pile up against her, alleging unpaid bills.

    With the warmer weather we’ve had over the last couple of weeks, I couldn’t help but remember that April isn’t always like that. In fact, I remember several times in late April where snow has even fallen from the sky. One particular date on which that happened was April 21, 2002.
