Jack Draper recorded a milestone win to see off Czech qualifier Vit Kopria 6-4, 6-3 at the Italian Open in Rome. Draper is sitting at No 2 in the ATP Race rankings for 2025, confirming he is one of the form players on the ATP Tour and he continued that form with a convincing win against Kopria. “It was a tough match against a guy who is a bit unknown, but he’s won a lot matches here,” said Draper, who achieved his 100th tour level win as he moved into the last-16 in Rome.

Emma Raucanu was blissfully unaware that she will play Coco Gauff in her next match at the Italian Open after a fine 5-7, 6-0, 6-1 win against Veronika Kudermetova in Rome. Raducanu served for the first set 5-4 up, but bounced back after losint the opener and she is now just one more victory away from overtaking Katie Boulter to start a secind reign as the British No 1.

Nick Kyrgios looks set to make what may be a final appearance at Wimbledon this summer and he could also make a rare appearance at the French Open later this month. Aussie maverick Kyrgios has struggled with injuries since his run to the 2022 Wimbledon final and he has given several hints that he will quit tennis. Yet he also hinted at the start of 2025 that he would have a final shot of making a run at his favourite tournament at Wimbledon, where he lost in the 2022 final against Novak Djokovic.

Molina was depicted as the unforgiving leader of the Alcaraz team, as he expressed his disdain for the young Spaniard’s decision to go on holiday to Ibiza after he won the French Open last June.
