QUAD CITIES, IA/Ill. (KWQC) --Cloudy and cool with showersDrying out by the weekend80s returnAn upper level system cut off from the main flow will lead to plenty of clouds and light rain over the next 36 hours. While several rounds of rain are expected, rainfall amounts will remain light—generally under a quarter inch. Because of the cloud cover and rain, temperatures will only reach the 60s and 70s this afternoon.

QUAD CITIES, IA/Ill. (KWQC) --Cloudy and cool with showersDrying out by the weekend80s returnAn upper level system is cut off from the main flow, which will lead to lots of clouds and light rain over the next two days. While radar may look busy today, there is a lot of dry air in place that will evaporate much of the rain before it reaches the ground. Because of this drier air, temperatures should still reach the 60s and 70s this afternoon.

QUAD CITIES, IA/Ill. (KWQC) --Cooler than normalMostly dry Holiday weekendWarming up next weekWe are off to a cool start this morning with temperatures in the mid 40s, but sunshine will help us warm back into the 60s and 70s this afternoon. Clouds will be more abundant on Saturday and Sunday, keeping highs in the mid to upper 60s. On Sunday and Monday, a system will track just south of the area, bringing a few showers along and south of Highway 34.

QUAD CITIES, IA/Ill. (KWQC) --Very localized severe storms todayHeavy rain ends tonightDry by the weekendHeavy rain will transition to scattered showers and thunderstorms after sunrise. While there will be some dry time today, it will still feel damp and cool with highs in the mid 60s. If we see some sun this afternoon southeast of the Quad Cities, a few strong storms can’t be ruled out as an area of low pressure and upper-level disturbance will help make them stronger.
