A cold front will push through the area this morning, leading to blustery north winds and afternoon highs only in the mid-40s under sunny skies. Tonight, winds will relax and skies will remain clear, allowing temperatures to drop into the mid to low 20s. Be sure to cover any outdoor plants. Record lows appear to be safe, as they remain in the teens.

QUAD CITIES, IA/Ill. (KWQC) -- The weather pattern remains active, with chances for showers as well as frost and freeze conditions. Today, showers will develop south of I-80 and continue off and on through the evening and overnight hours. Clouds and rain-cooled air will keep temperatures in the 40s and 50s today and tomorrow, with rainfall amounts generally less than a quarter of an inch.

QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) -- Widespread rainfall has come to an end for the QCA, but we are not done yet. A few isolated storms may be possible late this afternoon/evening for areas north of I-80. Small hail and gusty winds are possible, but widespread severe weather is not. Highs will reach the mid 80s this afternoon under sunny skies. The weekend will be mainly dry with cooler than normal temps in the low 80s.

Areas south of I-80 will see showers linger into the afternoon leading to a big difference in temps from south (cooler) and north (warmer). In general highs will range from low 70s to upper 70s over the area today. Tuesday will be a quiet day with sunshine and highs near 80º.

QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) -- It is time to put the forecast on repeat. Daily chances for showers and storms are on the way, but coverage will be low and severe weather isn’t expected. Temps and humidity will slowly increase through the week with near normal temps by Thursday into the weekend. As far as rain chances go, the favored timeframe will be the warmest time of the day, 2PM-7PM with storms falling apart towards sunset, so keep an umbrella handy for afternoon hours.

We get one more day in the 70s on Friday before the 80s return this weekend. While the weekend will be dry, plenty of clouds will hang around to keep things cooler than normal. The weather pattern will remain quiet the remainder of the week allowing for clean up in wake of severe weather on Monday. Today highs will reach the mid 80s, but great news for folks still without power will be overnight lows in the 50s and 60s the rest of the week.

QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) -- The remnants of Beryl are moving out well to our east, but that doesn’t mean we are done with rain chances just yet. We will get back to the mid 80s this afternoon under partly cloudy skies. This will be enough to set off scattered storms. Severe weather is not expected. Thursday will be a very similar day with afternoon storms, spotty in coverage and highs in the mid 80s. Quieter weather will set up Friday into the weekend with highs near 90º.

QUAD CITIES, IA./Ill. (KWQC) -- Clouds will be numerous today thanks to what is left of once Tropical Storm Beryl. Some of these clouds will produce some rain, especially SE of the QC by this evening. Because of the clouds, temps will only reach the upper 70s and low 80s today. Daily chances for storms exist through Thursday, but no severe weather is expected. A big warm up is on the way for the weekend along with dry conditions which will lead to lowering river levels by next week.
