    Chris Buescher and RFK Racing had their penalty from the NASCAR Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway lessened following an appeal on May 28. NASCAR announced that the National Motorsports Appeal Panel determined that while Buescher’s No. 17 still violated NASCAR’s front bumper cover rules, it did not violate the exhaust cover panel guidelines. As such, instead of losing 60 points toward the driver and owner standings, Buescher and RFK lost 30 points.

    Will Brown will enter the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Chicago street course this year with Kaulig Racing, Kaulig announced May 27. Brown will drive a third entry from the team, the No. 13. Mobile X and Shaw and Partners will sponsor the Supercars driver’s effort. The race will mark Brown’s first Chicago attempt. He made his series debut last year at Sonoma Raceway for Richard Childress Racing, finishing 31st.

Castroneves confirmed to Frontstretch‘s Michael Massie after the 2025 Indianapolis 500, won by Alex Palou, that he plans to return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the future. “I will,” he told Frontstretch when asked if he would do another Indy 500 down the road. “I’ll make it happen.”Castroneves did not share any other details.
