EAGAN, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings' draft outlook can be boiled down to one sentence: The NFL's oldest team in 2024 has the league's fewest resources to get younger in 2025. The Vikings head into next week's draft owning a league-low four picks. Unless they acquire additional picks via trade, they will become the 20th team to select four or fewer players since the draft moved to seven rounds in 1994, according to ESPN Research. 98% of teams have made more picks during that 30-year span.

The United Football Players Association has ratified a new collective bargaining agreement with the United Football League, ending nearly six months of negotiations, according to union officials. The deal, which is pending final approval from the UFL, is retroactive to the start of training camp, which opened March 2, and will extend through the end of the 2026 season.

Ken Whisenhunt has resigned as head coach of the UFL's Memphis Showboats, the league announced Wednesday. Offensive line coach Jim Turner will replace him for the duration of the season. "The time has come for me to step away from the game and take a break from football. I am so grateful for my time with the players and wish them the best," Whisenhunt said in a statement released by the league.

The Seahawks are expected to re-sign backup QB Drew Lock, a source confirms (@TomPelissero was first). Acquired in the Russell Wilson trade in 2022, Lock returns after a year with the Giants.
Of the helmets that NFL players can choose from in 2025, 10 of them perform well enough in the lab to be Guardian Cap optional. That means players who wear them would be exempt of the GC mandate in training camp/practice.
